ASI is based in the East Coast and produces laboratory kits for the statewide summative testing market.

In 2009, Assessment Services Inc. was looking for a way to create online versions of the chemistry sets that they produce for large state-wide summative testing programs.  The cost of assembling and shipping these tests was simply becoming uneconomical for ASI and their clients.  So ASI contracted with Breakthrough to create a flash-based simulation of the chemistry experiment.  This included having a student fill a graduated cyllinder from a faucet to a measurable level, interact with benctop tools (magnifying glasses, etc.) to simulate real-world investigational techniques and interactive surfaces to document the observations the students made.
