PROFILE:

Riverside Publishing offers a wide range of highly regarded clinical, state, formative, educational, and group assessment products. As a charter member of the Association of Test Publishers, Riverside serves both the K-12 educational market and the clinical assessment market with print, CD-ROM, and online assessment tools. With the national focus on standards and assessment in today's classrooms, Riverside Publishing often works with school districts and state education departments to provide solutions that allow educators to better understand the progress of their students. Riverside's The Iowa Tests are based on seventy years of ongoing research at the University of Iowa, and are used for local assessment or state testing programs in virtually every state. In the clinical assessment market, Riverside publishes a variety of tools that allow clinicians and specialists to measure such things as general intellectual ability, specific cognitive abilities, scholastic aptitude, and oral language development.


STORY:

Working with Riverside provided Breakthrough to flex their licensure and certification assessment skills in the US K-12 marketplace. While consulting Riverside's overall test delivery and content management architecture, Breakthrough:

  • Designed and built the online testing tools for the state contract marketplace
  • Collaborated on the future state assessment infrastructure across all Riverside test development teams
  • Worked with the web based content management tools to improve and accommodate strategic deficiencies in their item bank software.
