Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team! This position will be focused on testing new custom software and upgrades of legacy applications for external clients. This QA Engineer will be joining a professional services team which values collaboration and communication, pays attention to detail, and has a consultative mindset.

Responsibilities:
• Create detailed defect tickets upon discovery
• Communicate status to project team members
• Develop testing strategies across a wide variety of web and mobile applications
• Create test plans (manual and automated)
• Implement and execute test plans and scripts (manual and automated)
• Identify test automation tools
• Identify browsers (including versions) and hardware devices to be supported and coordinate device acquisition with project manager or director
• Participate in story refinement and definition of acceptance criteria with project team members
• Estimate testing effort based on requirements
• Support end-users during User Acceptance Testing
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for various software applications
• Recommend and execute continuous improvement initiatives related to the Quality Assurance process

Qualifications:
• 2+ years of software/application testing experience
• Excellent knowledge of quality assurance concepts, processes, and best practices for Agile software development methodologies
• Comfortable with Atlassian tools including Jira (Tricentis) and Confluence, or similar issue tracking and wiki tools
• Able to deliver work that is of substantial quality with minimal errors
• Experience testing software applications with moderately complex technical solutions as well as both front-end and back-end functionality
• Experience creating automated end-to-end browser-based tests using Cypress
• Able to organize and document their own work independently
• Is resourceful and can provide adequate solutions to problems on their own, but knows to escalate when necessary
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and comfortable with multi-tasking or working on multiple projects at the same time

Additional preferred experience with the following:
• Testing software/applications for the financial industry
• Testing software/applications that run on mobile devices (iOS and Android)
• Knowledge of .NET and Drupal
• Creating database scripts/queries

Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
