Client Spotlight: Transforming Digital Learning with the University of Illinois SnapEd Program

Client: University of Illinois SnapEd Program

Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (IL SNAP-Ed) provides community-based nutrition education for individuals and families eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). IL SNAP-Ed works with communities and local partners to prevent obesity and reduce the risk of chronic disease by making nutritious foods and active living opportunities more accessible. In Illinois, the SNAP-Ed program is known as Eat. Move. Save. The program is delivered by University of Illinois Extension and University of Illinois Health’s Chicago Partnership for Health Promotion. Results show that IL SNAP-Ed encourages steps toward health and wellness among Illinois residents.

Industry: Education

Challenge: The University of Illinois SnapEd program needed a robust and flexible digital platform to support its expansive educational outreach across the state. The challenge was to create an intuitive and accessible Learning Management System (LMS) that could cater to diverse communities, facilitate easy access to educational resources, and track key metrics.

Solution: Breakthrough Technologies partnered with the University of Illinois to develop a customized LMS tailored to the unique needs of the SnapEd program. Leveraging the latest in Drupal technology, we designed a platform that is not only secure and scalable but also user-friendly, ensuring that all participants, regardless of their technical skills, can easily access the educational resources they need. The solution included mobile optimization, integration with existing systems, and real-time analytics to monitor program effectiveness.

Through this partnership, Breakthrough Technologies helped enhance the University of Illinois SnapEd Program’s ability to deliver vital educational resources to communities across the state.
