At Breakthrough Technologies, Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are

Through BT CAN, our Community Action Network, we come together as a team to make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work.
Founded in 2020, BT CAN connects team members with opportunities to donate their time, skills, and resources to causes that matter. The program encourages community engagement, fosters collaboration, and helps build a stronger culture of service. After reviving the initiative last year, we launched our first team-wide volunteer event, Act Local, and the results were inspiring.
Act Local: Making a Difference Close to Home
Our BT CAN Act Local event gave everyone at Breakthrough Technologies the chance to volunteer for a community organization of their choice. The goal was simple: get involved, give back, and share our experiences.
Team members participated in a wide range of activities, from helping at food pantries, animal shelters, and community gardens to supporting local schools, families, and neighborhood initiatives. The event reminded us that giving back takes many forms, and that every act of service makes an impact.
BT is proud to donate to the nonprofit organizations our staff supported and will continue finding creative ways to extend that impact to individuals and communities outside formal networks.
Building Community, One Volunteer at a Time
Throughout the event, participants shared updates and photos in Slack, giving everyone a glimpse into their experiences and the meaningful contributions they were making. To keep the energy high, we offered weekly gift cards for those who shared their stories and inspired others to join in.
For some, volunteering is already a regular part of life; for others, this was a first-time experience. Many shared plans to continue volunteering after seeing the difference they could make. The enthusiasm, creativity, and compassion our team showed truly reflect what BT CAN's focus on collaborating to create positive change.
