Breakthrough worked with the National Center and State Collaborative (NCSC) to develop the online delivery platform for this assessment system, which includes 30–35 items for each subject, mostly selected-response; one writing prompt per grade, allowing multiple modes of response and direct student input to the online test, or teacher-entered responses. Breakthrough incorporated the TAO open-source test delivery system for the NCSC assessment, which runs in current web browsers without requiring users to download the platform onto local computers. Breakthrough’s system ensures the security of test and scoring data, and seamlessly links student enrollment, administrator qualification, and student demographic data functions with the test delivery platform.
The venerable SIIA CODiE Awards are the only peer-recognized awards for the content, education and software industries. Breakthrough couldn't be happier to be shortlisted alongside these other amazing companies.
Winners were announced Wednesday, May 18, 2016, during a virtual award ceremony. Congratulations to i-Ready for the overall win! The top honor for the best overall educational product will be presented to the winner July 26, at the Education Industry Symposium conference, in Denver.
