Wow. Some big changes are coming to the healthcare industry. Electronic Medical Records have long been designed absent of any concern for usability. That is changing, as the government has sponsored a contest to solve the usability question.
They have a winner. It is called Nightingale and is awesome. Below are screenshots of the conceptual mockups. The entire presentation is available at the Health Design Challenge's website. This design will be open sourced and implemented within the Department of Veteran Affairs (yes, the organization that gave us the big blue button. I can't wait to see it and apply it to our customer's product designs. Enjoy!
